Overview: Cage Match Dress Rehearsals is comprised of numerous studies of a single instant in time a sports photo of an MMA cage match. These collected studies are divided into four sections: "bodies and patterns set to motion " "rippling bodies all mixed up " "pattern expression of the space itself " and "liquid darkness". The studies were all generated by my own code applied to the sports photo in real time. During recording code-assigned keys on the computer keyboard were set up to trigger visual changes in an intuitive and improvised way: formal effects layerings collapsings swarmings and ripplings of fractal spaces. A soundtrack was added later.
